Scottsdale combines two different public transportation systems to make it even easier to get around the city. Take a free Scottsdale trolley on one of four lines that cover a large portion of the city. Trolleys also connect to the extensive Valley Metro Transit buslines, which cover the remaining areas of the greater Scottsdale Metro area. Between these two options, you can get anywhere with ease.

With mild winters and hot summers, Scottsdale is a gorgeous city located in the heart of the Sonoran Desert. The average rainfall in Scottsdale is less than 2 inches every year. Winter highs typically hit 68 degrees while summer highs reach past 100 degrees on a regular basis.

Major Employers

The biggest employers in the Scottsdale metro area are HonorHealth, Vanguard, CVS Pharmacy, The City of Scottsdale, the Scottsdale Unified School District, and General Dynamics. Those aren't the only options, though. According to Zippia, some of Scottsdale's best employers include GoDaddy and Rural Metro.

North Scottsdale

North Scottsdale lines the expansive McDowell Mountain Regional Park, and is home to a majority of Scottsdale's spas and wine bars. Tourists frequent Frank Lloyd Wright's winter home, the Taliesin West. You'll find a wide variety of attractions throughout the neighborhood, including the Marshall Way arts district. If you love the outdoors mixed with the best of luxury living, then North Scottsdale might just be the perfect neighborhood for you.

South Scottsdale

South Scottsdale is home to a wide range of breweries, sweet shops, and residential homes. Locals and visitors alike frequent Old Town Scottsdale, one of the best places to shop and a regular host to a wide range of events. Baseball fans can see the San Francisco Giants spend spring training at the Scottsdale Stadium, their spring home since 1984. The McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park is a major neighborhood highlight, and recently won the ELGL Knope Best Park & Open Space competition.

Pinnacle Peak

Pinnacle Peak is one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Scottsdale. With an abundance of spas, resorts, and golf courses, it also offers a wide range of outdoor activities including rock climbing, hiking, and biking in the expansive Pinnacle Peak Park. Residents with horses frequently go riding in the area, starting their journey at the Brown's Ranch Trailhead. Golfers will enjoy the 2 18-hole courses available at Troon North Golf Club.
