At Holland Residential, our number one concern has always been - and continues to be – caring for our residents and keeping our communities safe. Our team continues to closely monitor Coronavirus (COVID-19) updates from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and additional local government entities to ensure that daily operations at every property in our portfolio thoughtfully prioritize the health of our residents, staff, and neighbors above all else.
We have been taking extraordinary care to ensure public safety in response to the pandemic since March, which consist of the following measures:
Ensuring we plan for proper social distancing by removing furniture and establishing clear entry and exit points.
Encouraging communication be conducted by phone and email unless otherwise necessary.
Equipping our site teams with the tools and technology to ensure the virtual tour and leasing experience is just as valuable for a potential resident as an in-person experience
Establishing new protocols for pre-inspections and turns and establishing a phased approach with service requests.
Limiting access to and/or closing amenity spaces and common areas (in accordance with local regulations and recommendations) to decrease exposure risk.
Enacting and enforcing strict face mask and social distancing protocols, as well as self-quarantining protocols for staff and residents who have potentially been exposed.
Investing in additional cleaning methods in common areas, entrances, hallways, and other heavily trafficked areas of our properties.
Providing thorough documentation and instruction via physical signage, emails, and social media to repeatedly communicate the aforementioned measures and make finding information easy.
After vetting many potential partners and solutions and completely reconfiguring our approach to cleaning and sanitizing our communities, we enlisted Microshield 360. This unique system is supplemental and is proven to kill germs and viruses broadly.

Between March 11th (5 days prior to the Washington State lockdown order) and May 8th, we have successfully deployed this proactive measure across our communities with the highest risk of being affected based on the corresponding county and/or state case trend. We will continue our regular cleaning protocol but with this additional effort, we seek to minimize the risk of contracting harmful pathogens.
We are also asking our residents to continue to be aware of their surroundings and practice precautionary measures to remain safe and healthy. This includes practicing social distancing and following all other guidelines outlined by the CDC and other local orders.
